Shaun is a distinguished leader in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) with over two decades of exceptional service.Beginning his career on 30th October 2000 as a Military Engineer in the Army, Shaun quickly specialised in demolitions, mine warfare, and a comprehensive range of military engineering disciplines. His transition in June 2008 to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search Regiment marked a pivotal point, where he advanced his expertise in both operational and training environments.

 

Following his military tenure, Shaun has accrued extensive experience in both commercial and humanitarian EOD and demining operations, focusing particularly on humanitarian mine action. Currently serving as a Technical Advisor inKharkiv, Ukraine, Shaun provides strategic oversight for all EOD and land release activities. His role involves training,mentoring, and capacity-building for national staff, showcasing his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

 

Shaun’s expertise is not limited to EOD operations; he is a seasoned expert in designing, implementing, and evaluating EOD and Counter-IED training programmes on a global scale. His work with various national security agencies, including Police, Military, and Intelligence sectors, underscores his adeptness at cross- cultural communication and high-level strategic planning. Shaun’s ability to produce comprehensive risk assessments and detailed reports demonstrates his analytical prowess and commitment to stakeholder engagement.

 

His illustrious career includes significant roles such as Counter-Threat and Advanced Search Instructor in Botswana,UXO Engineer in the UK, and EOD/High-Risk Search Advisor in Northeast Syria with Danish Church Aid. Shaun’s work across these diverse and challenging environments highlights his capacity to manage complex demining operations and ensure the safety and security of affected communities.

 

Shaun’s credentials include International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) Level 3+, the Security Risk Management Consultants Course (SRMC), and several advanced EOD and Search certifications. His dedication to humanitariandemining and his extensive technical knowledge position him as a critical asset in addressing the threats posed byunexploded ordnance, contributing to safer and more secure environments worldwide.
